SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

The churches of Christ Greet You (Romans 16:16)

Let us pray...

Holy Father, we come with thankfulness and humbleness

as we bring our sacrifices of praise to You.

We praise You for Your love and power.

We praise You for Your mercy and grace.

We praise You for Your Son and Spirit.

We praise You for Your word and kingdom.

We praise You for our new life in Christ.

We praise You for Your church.

We praise You for our brothers and sisters,

for all our family in and out of Christ.

We praise You for Your world and Your Creation.

We praise You for the angles and all the Heavenly Host.

We praise You for the internet ministry You have given us.

We praise You for the thousands of souls it has already touched.

We praise You for this another day that the blood is still running warm in our veins.

We praise You for the lesson we are about to study.

We praise You in the Name of the One who has the sword which is sharp on both edges...

by the authority of Jesus we pray.

Let us all say: AMEN!

Understanding and obeying the Gospel of Jesus Christ hinges on a proper understanding of the relationship between Faith and Works as they relate to man’s salvation. The apostle Paul and James, the brother of Jesus, were guided by the Holy Spirit to make God’s teaching on this subject plain. The Christian must be prepared to show that there is no contradiction in the teachings of these two inspired men of God.

Does salvation come by faith in Christ alone or by faith plus works? The CORRECT answer to this question will go far in removing the division in the religious world. Below are four choices:

1. Some teach that salvation is obtained through faith alone. By this they mean NO good works or obedience to law is necessary.

2. Some teach that salvation is obtained through a combination of a person's faith plus his good works of merit. For them eternal life is based at least in part on doing a certain list of good deeds or serving the organization with time or money.

3. Some teach that salvation is obtained by keeping the Ten Commandments or the Law of Moses.
4. Some teach that salvation is obtained by Grace through Faith.

The below series will prove that choice 4 above is the only correct teaching on this subject.
